Life As An Online Entrepreneur – Build Relationships With Others In Your Community To Stay Connected

Working online can be an exhilarating experience, but it can also be all consuming as you change your life and become an Internet entrepreneur. Most of the people in your day to day life will not understand what you are doing or why you are spending so much time in front of your computer, even if you spend the time to try to explain it all to them. Because of this you may find that having other creative activities as a part of your life will be gratifying.

When you were in the work force, as I was for twenty years as a classroom teacher and real estate appraiser, you were able to interact with others each day. Even if you didn’t realize it at the time, this served as an outlet for you to talk about a variety of topics with your co-workers and clients. I can remember spending time each day at recess and lunch in the teacher’s lounge discussing everything from current events to politics to fashion.

Overnight this can change as you begin your life as an online entrepreneur working at home in front of your computer. You absolutely must get out and spend time with others to fill this void in your life. I have found that volunteering in my community, as well as attending live marketing events, has made my life more balanced and definitely more fun.

I went online in 2006 to see what was going on in my community. I now had some time to spend helping others, even though I was not yet making enough money to donate. It turned out that there were many groups in my city that participated in a variety of projects. I began to volunteer a few hours each week, and found that I loved it. One of my favorite things to do was to volunteer at my local performing arts center. I was in charge of helping disabled patrons get to their seats easily and safely.

Now my business is more successful, and sometimes I have more money to donate than time to help out. Either way, this has become a huge part of my life. I look forward to seeing my new friends at local events. These are people who are willing to take the time to make a difference, and I am proud to be one of them.

Your business will be more fulfilling if you take this time to reach out to others and form new relationships. The best thing is that you get to choose when and where you will participate. This is one of the many benefits of having your own online business.
